McCain withdraws flawed legislation
Senator John McCain has withdrawn his deeply flawed bill, S.3002. and indicated instead that he is willing to work with industry supporters in the Senate to strengthen regulatory action against manufacturers of questionable and tainted sports supplements. Backers of this bill had claimed athletes are unknowingly ingesting steroids and testing positive for illegal drugs when taking sports supplements.
Opposition to this bill via email, phone and fax from consumers, retailers and manufacturers likely contributed to this retraction.
We
tread carefully but feel we can cautiously back off for now on this
